I established our little, beloved eatery in the Kirkwood community nearly 13 years ago with a hot plate, 2 electric skillets, a Mr. Coffee and a Foreman grill. My tiny lunch counter was originally intended to supplement the retail market with everyday grocery fare but the 2008 recession derailed our retail segment which forced us to concentrate more on prepared foods.

During a full-throttled recession, I had to make major changes and tweak our concept which was moving in a whole new direction than my original plan. So, I consider adaptability as one of our biggest accomplishments. Without it, my doors would have closed long ago. Having zero knowledge of the restaurant industry, I had to learn everything along the way and it was a very steep climb.

Mom and Pop for coming out of retirement to help me do this. Mom made fresh soups, cakes and cookies until she passed in 2019. Pop bussing tables, making grocery runs and fixing everything that broke. I could not have done this without them.

We are a beloved breakfast and lunch spot whose goal is to help community thrive by empowering youth by providing a welcoming, comfy, family-feel not only for our staff but our guests as well. Great food and great vibes, that is our mission.

In 2006, I was a transplant from Los Angeles with a goal of continuing my longtime real estate career. Soon after moving to Atlanta, cracks in the home-buying industry were beginning to show and it was at that time, I decided to deploy PLAN B and the little market (an idea I developed while traveling throughout France) was born.

It's been a very uncomfortable ride these past 4 months. First, we closed in March for 2 solid months, then reopened for takeout with brand new systems and COVID-safe precautions which included online-ordering and delivery. After 6 weeks, an employee tested positive so we shut down again for 13 days so we could all get tested and have the restaurant thoroughly cleaned. Quite a bumpy ride but I'm thankful to still be holding on, thanks to the robust support of our community.

I'm most surprised, and frankly frustrated, with the number of calls and inquiries about catering large 50+ person events. It baffles me that celebratory events (which clearly aid the spread of COVID) are still happening.
